Smooth crossing to the Caribbean

Starting out from the Canary Islands (Spain), it took the Swan 90 just 11 days and 7 hours to reach St Maarten. "A quick trip with plenty of wind and a nice swell to surf on," said Captain Mark Fleigner. Covering more than 3300 nautical miles, the crew had the spinnaker up most of the way and averaged a speed of 12.45 knots. Cruising along at more than 20 knots for a lot of the time, the speedometer even hit 22.85 knots at one point.

07 January 2010 - DSK and crew safely arrived in St Maarten, following on from a fast and smooth transatlantic crossing.

Having won their Class in the New Year's Eve Regatta in St Bart's, 2010 got off to a good start. The team also finished second in the 'Round the Island Race', only two minutes behind the brand new J Class yacht 'Hanuman'.

Looking ahead, the RORC Caribbean 600 is on the horizon with a bit of Caribbean cruising in between.
